Best Time to Visit Nusa Lembongan — Weather Guide & Travel Tips
When is the best time to visit Nusa Lembongan? A honest breakdown of the dry and wet seasons to help you plan the perfect trip.

Nusa Lembongan is worth visiting year-round, but knowing what each season actually looks like on the ground will help you plan a trip that matches what you're looking for.
The dry season — April to October
This is when Lembongan is at its most postcard-perfect. Days are warm and sunny, humidity is manageable, and the sea between Lembongan and Nusa Penida is calm enough for comfortable boat crossings and excellent visibility underwater. July and August are peak months — the island is busier, prices are higher and boats fill up fast. If you want the best weather without the crowds, May, June and September are the sweet spot.
The wet season — November to March
The wet season gets a worse reputation than it deserves. Rain rarely lasts all day — most showers arrive in the afternoon and clear within an hour or two, leaving the rest of the day perfectly usable. The island is noticeably quieter, prices drop across the board and you'll often have the best snorkeling spots almost entirely to yourself. The main genuine consideration is the boat crossing from Bali, which can be rougher between December and February. Morning departures are almost always calmer than afternoon ones.
Water temperature and visibility
The water around Lembongan stays warm throughout the year, between 27°C and 30°C. Visibility for diving and snorkeling is generally best during the dry season, though conditions vary by site. Manta Point in particular can have strong currents year-round — always go with a local operator who knows the tides.
Surfing conditions by season
The dry season brings the most consistent swell to Shipwrecks and Lacerations, making it the preferred window for surfers. That said, Playgrounds picks up enough wave action during the wet season to keep intermediate surfers happy, and the water is rarely flat for long.
Public holidays and local events
Bali's Hindu calendar brings occasional ceremonies and temple festivals that affect the whole region, including Lembongan. Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, falls in March or April and is a genuinely unique experience — the island goes completely quiet for 24 hours. If your trip overlaps with it, embrace it rather than fight it.
Our honest recommendation
If flexibility is on your side, aim for May, June or September. You get dry season conditions, reasonable prices and an island that feels like it belongs to you rather than to a tour group. If your dates are fixed, don't worry — Lembongan rewards visitors in every season, and our team will make sure you make the most of whenever you arrive.
